About the factory
Steelos systems are made in partnership with an artisan steel workshop in Foshan, Guangdong. Established in the 1990s, the workshop built its reputation through long-standing relationships, producing complex bespoke steelwork for high-end hotels, retail environments, staircases, balustrades and custom furniture. Its focus has always been highly detailed fabrication rather than mass production.
Our partnership began more than two years ago, following the completion of an initial door project. The workshop enjoyed the challenge of producing the system, and together we saw an opportunity to bring its artisan steel working capabilities into architectural doors and windows.
Today, Steelos has a dedicated production team and designer within the workshop, each with more than a decade of experience. Steelos leads the design, proportions, profiles and installation requirements, while the factory designer translates every detail into precise CAD documentation for production.
The relationship is supported by constant communication, complete transparency and factory visits approximately every eight weeks. Every Steelos system is bespoke, made to order and developed as a piece of architectural steelwork rather than a standard catalogue product.

From CAD drawing to finished steel system.
How it is made
Every Steelos system begins as a completely bespoke CAD drawing. Profiles, dimensions, folds, glazing, hardware and installation details are resolved before the steel enters production, giving every team involved a precise manufacturing reference.
01 — Designed in CAD
Steelos defines the design, proportions, profiles and installation requirements. The factory designer then documents every elevation and construction detail in CAD, giving the client a clear and complete understanding of what will be made before production begins.
Once approved, those same drawings become the precise reference for cutting, forming and fabrication.
02 — Cut and formed
Steel is laser-cut and CNC-grooved directly from the approved CAD files, ensuring every component, opening and fold position corresponds with the documented design.
Where required, CNC grooving creates a controlled fold line before the components are precision-folded into the jamb, leaf, mullion and other project-specific profiles. The factory designer oversees this stage and checks the formed pieces against the CAD documentation before they move into welding and assembly.
03 — Welded, aligned and tested
Once the profiles have been formed, the dedicated Steelos fabrication team takes over. The folded sections are assembled and welded to create the complete jamb, leaf and system, including the hinges and any system-specific operating components.
Because welding introduces heat into the steel, dimensions, clearances and alignment are checked throughout fabrication. Where adjustments are required, experienced fabricators use controlled heat straightening to correct distortion and bring the completed system into precise alignment.
The door or window is then operated and tested in its assembled form. Once everything functions correctly, the welds are carefully ground and refined, and the steel is prepared for its specified finish.
04 — Finished, assembled and packed
Once the specified finish has been completed, the system returns to the workshop for glazing, hardware installation, seals and final assembly. The completed door or window is then checked, adjusted and prepared for transport.
Each component is carefully protected and securely packed to preserve the steelwork, glass, finish and hardware throughout international shipping and final delivery.
